I was a Senior UX Designer during a long term partnership with Juniper. Our role was to define and design a new Return-on-Investment Calculator to be hosted online that empowers Juniper's prospective clients to calculate their predicted savings when choosing Juniper over other competitors for long term use. Success would require asking the user for specific information based on factors such as their data size and bandwidth needs, budget, and personel size.
I facilitated discovery with Juniper's major stakeholders in identifying the core data points that the typical prospective client searches for in their initial research to provide a stronger first contact interaction between clients and Juniper representatives. With these data points, closer calculations could be made to what Juniper's clients would be saving compared to competitors, so that when the clients then connect with Juniper agents, there is a better initial understanding of what the client's needs and expectations are.
I visualized and Prototyped the possible solutions for data visualization that would best assist the user in making financial decisions, including the sequencing of possible data shown as well as the level of detail shown.
I also defined and sequenced the segmentation of data entries for a smoother user experience. It was important to create a heirarchy of information from greatest impact to most minute detailed, so as to motivate the client to make the next step in reaching out to Juniper while still empowering them with meaningful and easily digestable data.
The final solutions of the calculator and its visualization data table was approved for immediate development. A detailed annotation guide was created for new and updated components to be packaged alongside Juniper's extensive preexisting component library. New components were created for the unique use of the calculator, while preexisting components were used and modified where possible to retain as much cohesion with Juniper's library as possible.
